Healthy Habits to help you stay illness free all year! *Wash your hands often with soap and water. (see below) *Cover your mouth when you cough: use your elbow not your hands. *Eat nutritious foods like fruits and veggies for snack and lunch everyday. *Don’t skip breakfast Keep Germs Away: Make Hand washing a Must!
With the cold and flu season around the corner, now is a great time to review proper hand washing. Here is the correct technique: 1.Wet hands under warm running water .2.Lather with soap. 3.Scrub all parts of your hand: back, wrists, between fingers, under fingernails. 4.Scrub for at least 15-30 seconds, or sing Happy Birthday twice. 5.Rinse well under warm running water. 6.Dry hands with a paper towel. 7.Turn off the water using a paper towel and not with your hands I want to make sure my students have the materials and experiences they need to succeed, so I just created a request for my classroom at DonorsChoose.org: Ice ice baby.

The Illinois Department of Public Health recommends that your child stay home when the following conditions occur:
1. Fever Temperature of one hundred (100) degrees F or above. Children are required to stay home for at least twenty four (24) hours after the fever has gone down without the aide of fever reducing medications. 2. Nausea, Vomiting or Diarrhea All body fluids are considered contagious. Children are required to stay home at least twenty four (24) hours after the last episode. Please remember this is not only for the health and safety of your child but also other students and staff. 137 Anna Mcdonald Elem School families have joined our FLUency school group and ordered free Kinsa Smart Thermometers. Kinsa will likely run out of free thermometers in the next two days, so this is your last chance to sign up and get yours!
